The Group Standard ＂Mini Basketball: Equipment and Court＂ has been Officially Released

On May 24, the first China Youth Sports Industry Conference was successfully held during China Sport Show 2024. The group standard "Mini Basketball: Equipment and Court" jointly formulated by the Chinese Basketball Association and China Sporting Goods Federation (CSGF) was officially released at the conference.
 
Back to August 2023, the kick-off meeting of the group standard "Mini Basketball Sports: Equipment and Court" was held in Beijing. After nearly a year of work, the standard was successfully released. It aims to standardize the equipment and venues for mini basketball sports, to make the sports environment safer for children and to promote the development of basketball for the youth in China.
 
Zhang Yong, head of the Standards and Training Department of the Chinese Basketball Association, emphasized the importance of standards in promoting the healthy development of basketball. This group standard is an important milestone as it is the first standard developed by the association. Moving forward, both associations will focus on promoting, implementing, and training according to the standard.
 
Song Xiaobo, former captain of the national women's basketball team and the member of the Chinese Basketball Hall of Fame, mentioned that mini basketball has seen significant growth in China in recent years, leading to an increase in the number of players and talent development. The mini basketball standards, jointly formulated by the Chinese Basketball Association and the China Sporting Goods Federation, are paving the way for a brighter future for Chinese basketball.
