On April 22, the Cycling Eyewear National Standard Kickoff Meeting was held by the National Standardization Technical Committee of Sporting Goods (TC291), at the Guangzhou Institute of Measurement and Testing Technology. Experts from over 20 industry organizations and enterprises attended the meeting to discuss the direction of standard formulation.
China currently manufactures 70% of the world's cycling eyewear, with its domestic market size expected to exceed USD1.3 billion by 2026. However, the existing standards do not adequately address the specific demands of cycling scenarios, and the market is flooded with inconsistent product quality, making it difficult to safeguard consumer rights. The national standard formulation adheres to the principles of "all-user inclusivity, full-function coverage, and forward-looking design," modifying and adopting the international standard ISO 12312-3:2023 while optimizing technical parameters based on domestic needs. By encompassing key requirements and incorporating innovative technical specifications, it will empower enterprises to enhance competitiveness and guide consumers in making scientific purchasing decisions.
