Overview of China’s Sporting Goods Foreign Trade in Q3 2025: Total Value Reached USD 6.844 Billion

According to statistics released by the General Administration of Customs of China, in the third quarter of 2025, the total import and export value of sporting goods reached USD 6.844 billion, up 0.88% year on year. Exports totaled USD 6.454 billion(+0.91%), while imports reached USD 390 million(+ 0.52%).
From January to September, the total import and export value of sporting goods reached USD 22.422 billion, representing a year-on-year increase of 1.10%. Exports amounted to USD 21.355 billion(+1.36%), while imports declined by 3.91% to USD 1.067 billion.

By category, fitness equipment and treadmills remained the most important supporting forces for export growth, achieving export values of USD 1.514 billion (+21.50%) and USD 376 million (+8.99%), respectively. Exports of artificial turf reached USD 102 million, up 6.25%. By contrast, exports of sportswear, sports footwear, outdoor products, roller skates, and skateboards recorded relatively large declines, all falling by more than 10%.

By market, in the first three quarters, exports to the United States, Russia, Australia, the Republic of Korea, and Malaysia declined compared with the same period last year. Meanwhile, exports to Germany, Canada, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom all increased by more than 10%, with exports to Germany and Canada rising by 20.80% and 17.39%, respectively.

Among major trading partners, exports to the United States continued to account for a relatively high share. From January to September, exports to the U.S. accounted for 29.16% of China’s total sporting goods exports, down from 31.44% in the same period of 2024.
