Two National Standards Briefing Meetings for Teenagers’ Sporting Goods Held in Shijiazhuang to Boost Industry Robust Development

On February 4, the national standard briefing meetings for Skipping Rope and Sport Equipment and Playground for Middle School and Primary School—Part 12: Checkout-Equipment for Physique-Health of Students were held in Shijiazhuang.
 
The meetings were hosted by the National Standardization Technical Committee on Sporting Goods (TC291) and co-organized by the Hebei Institute of Product Quality Supervision and Inspection. Relevant executives, industry experts and representatives of sporting goods enterprises attended the event.
 
The executive from the Hebei Institute of Product Quality Supervision and Inspection noted that standards serve as the cornerstone of the sports industry, and the briefings would help enterprises fully understand the requirements and reduce production risks.
 
The core of the meetings was the interpretation of two new national standards related to youth sports safety and health:
 
· Skipping Rope for the first time regulates the classification, safety performance and mechanical properties of jump ropes, and sets mandatory requirements including hazardous substance limits and counting accuracy for smart jump ropes.
· Checkout-Equipment for Physique-Health of Students has been revised for the first time since its release in 2005. It adds 6 new equipment specifications, raises requirements for testing accuracy and electromagnetic compatibility of electronic parts, and establishes stability and durability as prerequisites for campus equipment.
