China Sporting Goods Industry Development Report 2025 Officially Released

During China Sport Show 2026, China Sporting Goods Federation officially released the China Sporting Goods Industry Development Report 2025.
The report shows that China’s sporting goods manufacturing and sales sector, a core component of the sports industry, generated a total output of RMB 2.085 trillion in 2024, up 3.6% year-on-year, accounting for 54.3% of the total output of the sports industry. The added value of sporting goods manufacturing reached RMB 424.5 billion, representing 26.5% of the industry’s total added value.
The report also indicates that the combined revenue of 28 listed sporting goods companies grew by 6.62% in 2025. Among them, 17 companies recorded revenue growth, while the sportswear segment maintained strong momentum with a 7.38% year-on-year increase, demonstrating notable resilience and long-term growth potential.
The report includes a large-scale survey of member companies conducted by the China Sporting Goods Federation. Based on data collected from 155 sample enterprises, total operating revenue increased by 13.34% in 2025 compared with the previous year. During the same period, employment at surveyed companies grew by 6.71%, further demonstrating the sporting goods industry’s contribution to job creation and economic development.
Domestic demand for sporting goods continued to expand, with e-commerce remaining the primary growth driver. In 2025, sporting goods sales across China’s four major online retail platforms—JD.com, Taobao, Tmall, and Douyin—reached RMB 449.39 billion, representing a year-on-year increase of 15.89%.
This year’s report also features a special study on the international expansion of Chinese sporting goods enterprises, examining emerging opportunities and key trends in global market development.
