Recently, Woao Sports, a member company of the CSGF Youth Sports Equipment and Services Committee, released the 2025 China Mass Basketball Tournament Development Data Report.

According to the report, in 2025, the geographical focus of basketball tournaments in China will continue to cluster in vibrant regions such as the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the Yangtze River Delta, and the Capital Economic Circle. A clear participation map has taken shape, consisting of mini-basketball (the foundation for popularization), youth tournaments, community tournaments (the mainstay for mass participation), and diverse vertical scenarios.

In terms of provincial distribution, the top three provinces with the most newly added tournaments throughout the year are Guangdong Province, Zhejiang Province, and Shaanxi Province. Guangdong Province, in particular, has secured the top spot for four consecutive years with 1,181 tournaments.

In 2025, mass basketball tournaments on the Woao Sports platform featured a clear ecological structure characterized by "rooted in youth groups, supported by community scenarios, and booming with diversified scenes".

Mini-basketball tournaments account for 41.98%, forming the absolute foundation of the entire ecosystem. Their standardized setup for children aged 6-12 (U8-U12 groups) highlights the significant demand and successful practice of basketball in promoting early-age popularization and standardized initiation.

Community/grassroots tournaments make up 29.75% and serve as the second-largest segment, which is the core manifestation of the mass-oriented and social attributes of basketball. These tournaments are open to all age groups (with youth aged 19-35 as the main participants) and have no specific identity restrictions for participants, creating the most active and widespread basketball scenes in both urban and rural areas.
