China Sporting Goods Federation (CSGF) recently released the 2025 China Sporting Goods Foreign Trade Development Report. The report reveals that amid a complex and constantly evolving global trade environment and the accelerated restructuring of international supply chains, China's sporting goods industry has demonstrated remarkable resilience and solid industrial strengths.

Benefiting from a well-established industrial system, efficient supply chains, and continuously improving product competitiveness, the total export value of China's sporting goods reached USD 28.16 billion in 2025, maintaining stable performance and surpassing expectations.

From a macro perspective, China has continued to hold its position as the world's largest trader of goods. As a vital component of China's foreign trade, the sporting goods sector has managed to maintain overall stability despite the impact of external uncertainties, providing strong support for high-quality trade development. In the face of multiple challenges, enterprises have actively adjusted their strategies, ensuring the smooth operation of the industry throughout the year.

In 2025, the export market structure of China's sporting goods continued to improve, showing a trend of diversification. The European market emerged as a key growth driver, while emerging markets such as Latin America and Southeast Asia further unlocked their potential, expanding market opportunities. Meanwhile, enterprises accelerated their global expansion efforts, promoting a shift from a relatively concentrated export market structure to a more balanced and diversified one, thereby enhancing the industry's ability to withstand risks.

In terms of trade modes, general trade remained dominant, reflecting the increasing completeness and independence of China's sporting goods industrial chain. Processing trade maintained stable development in certain segments. Overall, the industry's mature supply chain system and strong supporting capabilities provided a solid foundation for the stable performance of foreign trade.

From a product perspective, the export performance showed both structural differences and notable highlights. Fitness equipment maintained strong growth momentum and became a key driver of export performance. Sub-categories such as treadmills continued to grow, with export markets becoming increasingly diversified. Against the backdrop of rising global demand for health and fitness, related products continued to gain popularity, injecting new vitality into the industry.

The report concludes that although the international trade environment remains complex, the long-established industrial foundation and competitive advantages of China's sporting goods industry remain robust. A complete and efficient industrial chain, strong supply capabilities, and continuously improving product competitiveness will continue to support the industry's participation in global competition. As enterprises accelerate their "going global" strategies and deepen international trade cooperation, the industry is transitioning from export-oriented growth to globalized operations. Overall, China's sporting goods foreign trade has a strong fundamental base and a positive medium- to long-term outlook.
