U.S. Golf Rounds Slide In November

According to Golf Datatech, U.S. rounds of golf were down 17.6 percent in November 2021 against November 2020 but still up 5.6 percent in the first 11 months of the year.
The nation’s golf courses in recent months have been facing tougher comparisons against pandemic-related surges in the year-ago period. In October 2020, golf rounds played were up 32.2 percent compared to the same month in 2019. In November 2020, golf rounds played were up 57 percent for the month and ahead over 13 percent year-to-date.
In November 2021, the steepest decline by region year-over-year was in East North Central, down 50.5 percent; followed by the Mid-Atlantic, 38.2 percent; New England, 29.8 percent; West North Central, 24.0 percent; South Central, 20.0 percent; Pacific, 6.2 percent; and South Atlantic, 4.4 percent. The one positive region was Mountain, increasing 9.3 percent in rounds played.
