Recent polling data from CivicScience found that the Gen-Z generation turned to Nike as its brand of choice for athleisure, followed by (in order) Target, Adidas, Old Navy, and Lululemon.
Civic Science asked Gen-Z in the data collection process, “Which brands are you most likely to buy athleisure wear from this year?” The top response was Nike, cited by 61 percent, followed by Target, 47 percent; Adidas, 43 percent; Old Navy, 40 percent; Lululemon, 36 percent; Supreme, 33 percent; Athleta and Under Armour, both at 32 percent; Gymshark and Alo Yoga, both at 24 percent; and Vuori, 17 percent.
Compared to the general population, Target and Old Navy were more popular as go-to venues for athleisure, likely due to lower prices. Trendy brands, including Supreme, Gymshark and Alo Yoga, also ranked higher with younger consumers, and older consumers favored Lululemon and Under Armour.
Among the generational population, the top go-to brand for athleisure was Lululemon, cited by 50 percent, followed by Nike and Under Armour, both at 46 percent; Adidas and Athleta, both at 36 percent; Target, 32 percent; Old Navy, 24 percent; Vuori, 21 percent; Supreme, 14 percent; Alo Yoga, 12 percent; and Gymshark, 11 percent.
