Outdoor sports are becoming increasingly popular in the Chinese market. In 2022 and the first half of 2023,camping, rafting, skiing, hiking, and catching the sea have been steadily ranked in the top 5 of the hot search list of outdoor activities, and have become the sports with the highest level of people's attention. In addition climbing, cycling, diving and surfing are also popular with the public.
In addition, a series of sports such as frisbee, paddle boarding, land surfing, flag football, pickleball, and more have quickly gained popularity, attracting a large number of young people to participate and becoming representatives of urban sports trends.
These campaigns have spawned a huge demand for outdoor sporting goods, giving China's outdoor sporting goods market a significant growth momentum.
The "2023 Global Outdoor Supplies Industry White Paper" published by China Business Industry Research Institute shows that the retail value of China's outdoor supplies industry will be approximately RMB26.22 billion in 2022, representing a year-on-year growth of 3%. Currently, the penetration rate of outdoor sports in China is only 28%, which still has much room to rise compared with the penetration rate of over 50% overseas. It is expected that China's retail sales of outdoor products will reach 27.11 billion yuan in 2023 and 27.44 billion yuan in 2024.
