China’s ports managed a total of 280 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) of containers in the first eleven months of 2023, marking a 4.9 per cent increase compared to the same period last year, according to the latest data released by the ministry of transport.
The country's overall cargo throughput at these ports reached 15.51 billion tonnes, an 8.4 per cent boost from the previous year.
A notable aspect of this growth is the surge in foreign trade cargo throughput, which escalated by 9.6 per cent year on year.
