Cambodia's footwear exports fall 21.4% in 2023 to $1.3 bn

Cambodia generated over $1.36 billion last year from the export of footwear, gaiters and related products—a year-on-year (YoY) decline of 21.4 per cent, according to the General Department of Customs and Excise (GDCE).
The figure comprised 6 per cent of the country’s total exports, which were worth $22.64 billion last year. In 2022, such exports constituted 7.8 per cent of the country’s total exports worth $22.25 billion.
The number of approved projects in the country last year rose to 268, up from 186 in 2022, including investments in manufacturing of footwear and related products, according to the Council for the Development of Cambodia.
